Consult the wheel range chart to ensure the wheel load rating is sufficient for the application. |
Ensure that the tyre load rating is sufficient for the application. |
Before fitting the tyre to the wheel ensure you have followed section 2 of the fitting instructions. |
Ensure that the correct spigot rings and fixings are used. Fit bulge seat conical ( taper ) nuts or bolts for conical wheel seating, and fit special
(radius ) nuts of bolts to special wheel hole seating. |
Check that each wheel nut or bolt has received the correct number of thread turns. |
Make sure the mounting faces of the hub and wheel are free from dirt, loose paint, rust etc. |
Follow the fitting instructions for the correct assembly of the wheel to the hub, and tighten the wheel fixings in a cross wise manner. |
Tighten the fixings with a hand tool applying the correct torque specified by the vehicle manufacturer. |
Ensure that the nuts run freely on the stud thread or the bolt screws freely into the hub assembly. |
Ensure that the tyres, are inflated to the correct pressure for the application fitted with that profile of tyre. |
Remove and dispose of any wheels with severely damage flanges, fractured centre discs, or major distortions. |

Do not assume that the rim profile size indicates suitability of wheel use. |
Do not assume that the tyre listed in this guide is of an adequate load rating for the application. The tyre size's listed in this guide are only suggestions, and it is the responsibility of the person fitting the tyres to ensure their suitability. |
Do not assume that the wheel will fit the vehicle without any foul problems. |
Under any circumstances mix different types of wheel fixings as this may damage the wheel and result in the wheel becoming loose. |
Assemble the wheel on stretched, damaged, or worn studs. |
Fully tighten one nut, whilst others are still loose.

Use air impact tools for final nut/bolt tightening. Over tighten wheel nuts/bolts by using extensions on wheel nut spanners or spiders. |
Use grease. |
Do not assume that the tyre pressures that are stated in the vehicle manufacturers handbook are correct for the profile of the tyre that you are fitting. |
Weld or attempt to repair damaged or distorted wheels. |
